WELCOME Strategic Communications is a Connecticut-based firm that consults to U.S. and multinational corporations and government agencies in all areas of written and spoken communications skills. Its clients are primarily large financial institutions, Fortune 100 companies, and major consulting firms. In addition to working with U.S.-based firms, our trainers have in recent months consulted to clients in Australia, France, Germany, Switzerland, England, and the United Arab Emirates.

WHO WE ARE Strategic Communications was founded in 1980 by Marya Holcombe, who developed, and for a number of years directed, the Communications Skills Program at the Yale School of Management. Holcombe is a co-author of Writing for Decision Makers, which presents a structured approach to management writing, and Presentations for Decision Makers, which focuses on developing and delivering logical, persuasive management presentations of all kinds. The firm has been recognized by the Washington Post and The Journal of the Institute of Internal Auditors for its contributions to the field of business writing.
WHAT WE DO Strategic Communications trains managers, from the CEO level down, to present their ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively. We use a systematic, proven approach that structures content to address the concerns of the audience. This structured approach to business communications works for presentations, meetings, sales calls, written communications, and video conferencing.

Our team of professionals takes the time to learn about a client's business, its corporate culture, and its strategic objectives when developing training programs. We interview executives from different areas to discuss the kinds of audiences they address, determine the skills required at different organizational levels, and look at the types of visual support they use.
